Number 77 Bus Crashes Into Shop On Lavender Hill


Two people trapped on the upper deck have been rescued

A number 77 bus crashed into a shop front on Lavender Hill just before 7am this morning (August 10th). Emergency services were called to reports of the bus in collision with a building on Lavender Hill at the junction with Altenburg Gardens.

Police officers, the London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service are in attendance.

The driver has been taken to a south London hospital and a number of passengers were treated by LAS at the scene.

Two passengers who were trapped on the upper deck have been rescused by the LFB.

Around 15 passengers were able to leave the bus immediately and the two trapped on the upper deck were rescued by the firebrigade using an aeral ladder platform.

The road is currently closed to traffic and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
