Resulting in a passenger being punched in the face

Officers from British Transport Police (BTP) have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in relation to an assault on a train at Clapham Junction station on Saturday 30 July.

Around 8.50pm, two men were attempting to board a train. A brief dispute over who was boarding the train first took place and one of the men punched the other to the side of his face.

PC Carl Wayte is investigating. He said, “What started as a verbal dispute resulted in the victim receiving a punch to the face causing a swollen cheekbone.

“We’re keen to speak with the man in the image as we believe he can assist us with our enquiries.”
