Man Dies After East Hill Collision

A man who was seriously injured following a collision in Wandsworth has died.

Police were called at approximately 9.55pm on Tuesday 15 May to reports of a car in collision with a pedestrian on East Hill, at the junction with Tonsley Hill.

The pedestrian, an 83-year-old man, was taken to a south London hospital suffering from serious injuries.

He died in hospital on 19 May.

His next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries. There have been no arrests and police enquiries continue.

Detective Constable James Ramsey, from the Met's Roads and Transport Policing Command, said, "Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of what happened in the lead up to this incident.

"I would like to reiterate my appeal for anyone who witnessed this collision or with information to come forward and speak to police.

"If you have any dash cam footage of the incident, or the events prior to the collision, then this could prove vital in establishing the exact series of events."
