Motorcyclist fighting for his life after collision

A woman was fatally injured after a collision on Battersea Park Road this Friday evening (30 August).
The 34-year-old was walking at around 8.20pm when she was hit by a motorcycle. She died as a result of her injuries.
The 40-year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital but and remains in a critical condition. Originally the police issued a statement that he had died but this was an error.
The police believe they know the identity of both victims and are in the process of notifying next of kin.
Post-mortem examinations and formal identification will be arranged in due course.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call officers at Merton traffic garage on 020 8543 5157.
Officers also wish to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage that would assist their investigation.
