Police were called to a report of suspects on a scene at East Hill, SW18 on Monday October 11th. A passer-by had heard a noise coming from the basement area of a building and when she looked down she saw a man’s feet disappearing into the house as he climbed through a smashed window.

The witness called on the assistance of two nearby builders who detained the man as he exited the house with a stolen laptop in his possession. The Police were called and an arrest was made. The burglar later admitted that he broke the window with a plant pot and entered with the intention of stealing something to sell on. Once inside he went upstairs and took the laptop off a desk.
