Man charged with Ellerton Road Murder

24-year-old Billy Botton of Deeside Road in Wandsworth has been charged with the murder of a man in Ellerton Road at the weekend.

Billy Botton was arrested on April 2nd and charged with murder yesterday (April 3rd). He has been remanded to appear at Wimbledon magistrates court today (April 4th).

A 20-year-old man was stabbed to death in Ellerton Road this weekend. Police were called on Sunday (1 April) at approximately 1:10am to reports of an injured man on the residential street and despite the best efforts of officers and paramedics the victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:55am.

His next-of-kin have been informed and a post mortem is under way.

A 21-year-old was arrested at the weekend on suspicion of murder but was released with no further action.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating led by Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cranwell.

DCI Cranwell, said, "Sadly, another family has been left devastated with the tragic death of a young man from an act of violence."
