The policenwere alerted at approximately 8:00 ams on 10 December 2008 to reports of the body of a man found at the centre on Riverside Road SW17. Police and the ambulance service attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The post mortem gave cause of death as multiple stab wounds to head, neck and chest.

DCI Scola who is running the investigation said:
“It is the case that Andrew had previously been on the sex offenders register for an offence he committed in 2000. Although we’re keeping an open mind, it is clearly possible that this was a motive for his murder.

“Regardless of who he was or what he may have done, Andrew was the victim of a vicious assault which ended his life.

“We’re still examining CCTV from the area and working to establish the number of suspects involved. However, there is nothing to suggest this was a “mob” attack.

"I would ask anyone who has information or was in the area that night [9/12/08] or in the early hours of the morning [10.12.08] and saw or heard anything suspicious to get in touch with us."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Incident Room on 020 8721 4138; if you wish to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
