An inquest heard that a mentally ill man froze to death in a hovel 'barely fit for human habitation' because social workers believed they might affect his human rights if they moved him, an inquest heard.

Mayan Coomeraswamy, 59, lived alone in 'extreme squalor' and suffered from severe hypothermia in an unheated Wandsworth flat.
