Wandsworth Men Convicted of Firearms Offences
following a proactive, intelligence-led operation by Trident police detectives
20-year-old Perrie Reese-Mason and 23-year-old Israel Ankers, both of
Wandsworth, were sentenced this week at Kingston Crown Court to six and nine
years imprisonment respectively.
They had both been found guilty of possession of a firearm a Mac-10
machine pistol together with ammunition with intent to endanger life. A Mac-10 machine pistol is capable of firing a thousand rounds a minute and
a magazine contains seventeen rounds of ammunition.
A 16-year-old youth from Lambeth was also found guilty of possessing a
prohibited weapon and ammunition, and has been sentenced to a two year
detention and training order.
Detective Inspector Angela Phillips from Trident says:

These convictions
are as a result of diligent detective work and I am pleased that these
obviously dangerous individuals have been removed from the streets of
London."
Trident Operational Command Unit is the Metropolitan Police Service response
to gun related activity occurring within all communities in London. The
levels of violence associated with this type of criminality are extreme,
with the use of firearms becoming more prevalent. Trident was set up in
April 1995 after the brutal murder of Marcia Lawes in Brixton by Delroy
Denton, and as the result of other murders in and around areas of Lambeth
and Brent.
