Police Appeal For Witnesses To Serious Assault & Attempted Robbery

Detectives in Wandsworth are appealing for information following an attempted robbery and serious assault. On Saturday 9 July 2011 a 55 year old white female was walking across Bramlands Close, Battersea, SW11 at approximately 23.30 hours when she was attacked by a thin built, light skinned black female who tried to steal her handbag.

During the incident the victim was stabbed by the suspect, leaving her critically injured. The victim was taken to hospital and after several days of treatment her condition stabilised and she was discharged.

Detective Constable, Alex Ware from Wandsworth CID said:
"We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the attempted robbery to come forward. The incident occurred a short distance from the Grant Road entrance to Clapham Junction Railway Station and we would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard something."
