St Cecilia’s secondary school in Southfields has been closed as a precaution due to two possible cases of the coronavirus.
The school was closed on Tuesday 3 March and remained so until Friday 6 March to allow cleaning of the school buildings to take place.
In a letter to parents headteacher, Renata Joseph said, "We have had two possible, both unconfirmed, cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) reported today following recent travel to Northern Italy.
"Public Health England guidance is for the school to undertake a clean of all potentially contaminated, high contact areas in the school building.
"This will take place this week."
Ashcroft Technology Academy in Putney recently sent home more than 20 staff and students after a half-term ski-trip to Northern Italy, as a precautionary measure against the spread of the disease.
Wimbledon College was also closed after a staff member tested positive for the disease.
Public Health England advises people coming back from northern Italy to self-isolate even if they have no symptoms and call 111 for advice as to what to do next.
