by canvassing the opinions of residents
Questionnaires are being sent to individual households, schools and employers across the borough.
The government wants to hear from organisations and from individuals, about what influences the choices people make about their health and what role they want central government and other organisations to play in improving their health.
Professor Salman Rawaf, Director of Public Health for Wandsworth Primary Care Trust said:
"This is a personal message to every reader and resident in the Borough of Wandsworth. There are so many health problems that can be prevented. We are particularly concerned about the increasing number of problems linked with people having high stress levels, smoking, being overweight, not eating healthily, being inactive and carrying sexually transmitted infections. We are also very much aware that not all sections of the population are enjoying the same level of good health.
"We want to hear from you - what would help you, your family and your community to keep fit and healthy? Please complete our questionnaire and return it as soon as possible. The government will then use this information when making decisions to improve the health of the nation."
