Met Gets Involved In Peace Week

Wandsworth residents Meet the Met

Safer Neighbourhoods teams from Wandsworth’s Trinity Road Police Station hosted a Meet the Met afternoon last week to celebrate London Week of Peace.

On Wednesday September 22nd, officers from Bedford, Nightingale, Wandsworth Common and Balham wards were joined by Wandsworth Parks Police, Special Constables and Police Cadets on Tooting Common where members of the local Community were given an insight into policing methods and techniques.

The Metropolitan Police was supporting the London Week of Peace, which is organised by a partnership of statutory and voluntary bodies led by the Peace Alliance, to spread the message that everyone can play their part in building a more cohesive, tolerant and peaceful society.

Sgt. Eric Ostrowski said, “This was a great opportunity for the teams to reach young people and their families in another part of our community. The event was a real success and many people approached us to ask when we would be doing similar events in the future."
