Oldest Wandsworth Resident Celebrates 107 years!


with a special birthday visit form Wandsworth Police

On Friday 15th August, Mrs Mary Goodfellow, believed to be the borough’s oldest citizen celebrated her 107th birthday at Richard Cusden Homes’ Norclyffe care home in Wandsworth Common. .

Wandsworth Borough Police joined in the celebrations by presenting Mary with a Bouquet of flowers.

Born and brought up in the North East, Mary came to London and eventually settled in the Wandsworth area with her late husband an RAF officer turned golf professional. She moved into Norclyffe in her very late nineties and says she is very content. “They look after me very well and I have a nice room overlooking the garden” For her 107th birthday as the number of cards she has received from the Queen mount up Mary gave instructions that she didn't want a fuss.
