"Bowls Is For Old People" - Myth!

Check out for yourself at a free session on 17th August at St Georges Park

Part of the Grow Active programme - a series of events, practical outdoor workshops, indoor discussion and talks, stemming from the work of Wandsworth Parks Development Team.

It aims to share the skills, knowledge and expertise of Parks Service staff with local people, and pass on key skills that they can take back to their communities.

This could include putting colour back into their neighbourhood by growing flowers, sharing information on Wandsworth's biodiversity and how it can be protected, and how to enhance their enjoyment from the borough's parks and open spaces.

People of all ages are welcome - the sessions aim to blow away the myth that bowls is just for older people. Go along to King George's Park, Wandsworth from 5pm to 8pm. The sessions are free of charge.

Other upcoming sessions include Blackberry Day on August 21 from 2pm to 6pm opposite the café on Tooting Common. Listen to a talk on the different species of blackberry, see displays and get more information. You are encouraged to bring a picnic, and to bring your recipes for blackberries for sharing with others.
