28th August 2008 - ASDA on Lavender Hill 10am - 2pm
The day has been organized by PCSO Carl Knowles and Shaftesbury Safer Neighbourhoods Team to raise awareness on how residents can help themselves in reducing the risk of them becoming a victim of crime.
The team will do this by having officers from the local Safer Neighbourhoods Team as well as guest speakers on hand from Victim Support, Community Safety Teams and Transport Safety Teams who will be available to provide expert advice either face to face on a one to one basis where possible, within a group or by the distribution of crime prevention leaflets and freebies.
It is not enough for the police alone to fight crime.
Reducing the risk of crime and fear of crime is a task for the police and the community to work on together.
To achieve our aim of making London the safest major city in the world we need the people who live here, work here and visit here to do their part in making life more difficult for criminals
Crime Prevention Days are a great way for local people to meet their teams in a very public place and seek advice on how they can help reduce crime within the area. We urge as many people as possible to attend the day. On behalf of your local team we hope to see you on the day.
PCSO Steve (left) will be on hand to entertain the kids.
