Young, Gifted and living in Wandsworth?


Talent wanted for Wandsworth Young Performer 2010

Young people in Wandsworth with a passion for performance, music or arts are being urged to register for the 2010 Young Performer talent competition.
 
The event is run by the Wandsworth Arts Team in conjunction with the Youth Participation Team, and is open to 14-19 year olds who live, go to school/a youth club or work in Wandsworth. The final event, which will hosted by a celebrity, will take place on November 28th at the Civic Suite  Wandsworth.
 
The competition is an opportunity for singers, poets, dancers, musicians, bands, comedians and any other performers with an act or routine to showcase their talent.
 
Bigga Fish, the not-for-profit youth organisation, is running the event management and street team training, and there will be opportunities for young people to get involved with the event production and marketing.
 
Auditions will take place on the following days:
 
Saturday 9th October                
Wandsworth Youth Service, Tooting Hub, Beechcroft Road, SW17 7BU
 
Saturday 16th October
The Halfmoon Putney, 93 Lower Richmond Road, SW15 1EU
 
Saturday 23rd October  
Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), 36 Battersea Square, SW11 3RA
 
Saturday 30th October  
Battersea Arts Centre, Lavender Hill, SW11 5TN
 
Skills development workshops, specifically designed for Young Performer entrants will be run by industry professionals, and take place on November 6th, 7th and 13th.

Prizes this year include a tailored package of professional development opportunities.
