Wandle Trust Clean Up

Join other volunteers and improve your local environment

Volunteers from the Wandle Trust will be returning to Kimber Road on Sunday 13th April. They will pitching their gazebo in King George's Park, getting into the river under the bridge and working their way upstream.

There is parking in Kimber Road itself or in Twilley Street and a fence to which you can chain bicycles. It's about a 5 minute walk from Garratt Lane where the 44 and 270 buses travel up and down and about a 15 minute walk from Earlsfield overground station.

If you'd like to take part please arrive in time for a Health and Safety briefing at 11am. If you arrive later than that, don't worry, you'll be asked to read the briefing and sign in to confirm your understanding of the guidelines, and agreement to adhere to them.

They'll work through until 3pm with a break at about 1pm for tea, coffee and cake provided. You may like to bring your own picnic lunch.

Wandle Trust are extremely grateful to Joanna and Michael and the rest of the Waste Management team at Wandsworth Council for their support in taking the rubbish away.

They provide a number of pairs of safety chest waders for you to use. They have also 'recycled' some old chest waders and have turned these into Wellingtons. Please wear walking/working type boots or your own Wellingtons as these provide good foot protection.

They provide gloves and other pieces of equipment including litter pickers. Please wear old clothes you don't mind getting dirty and layers as the weather may be changeable! It's always worth bringing a change of clothes too, particularly socks, just in case your waders spring a leak!

Becoming an Individual Supporter of the Wandle Trust costs just £30 per year, and you'll receive invitations to all their cleanup and river restoration activities as well as other events at which you can find out more about what's planned for the future. You can join at any of the cleanups.

Donations from Corporate Supporters can be allocated to any of the activities that the Wandle Trust carries out such as Trout in the Classroom, River Cleanups and River Restoration.
