Wandsworth Living Streets Group Launches


Working towards safe, attractive and enjoyable streets

The Wandsworth Living Streets Group will be campaigning for better streets in Wandsworth, which means wider pavements, better crossings and comfortable places to sit down. They are aiming for “streets that everyone can use, a convivial public realm, quieter and more peaceful roads, cleaner air….” If you would like to be involved, the inaugral meeting is on Monday November 8th at 7.30pm at The Alma Pub, 499 Old York Road, Wandsworth SW18 1TF, opposite Wandsworth Town Station. The agenda for the evening is as follows

     - Snacks/Ordering drinks/Getting to know each other
- Welcome and Introduction to Living Streets.
- Local Issues. Wandsworth Living Streets may campaign on:
Transport for London’s proposed removal of eight pedestriancrossings across Wandsworth
20mph speed limit in residential and local shopping streets
Making our Town Centres more people-friendly
Contributing to Wandsworth Local Implementation Plan
Supporting action on Albert Bridge
The London Mayor’s Year of Walking 2011
- Practical Arrangements, such as the election of officers/postholders; future meetings
