Asbestos Danger From World War Two Gas Masks


Local MP alerts residents to risks

Schools, history societies and individuals who own World War II gas masks are warned not to handle them or put them over their faces after tests show that asbestos fibres can be released and pose a health risk.

id: “The Department of Education has received an alert about the danger of handling these old gas masks, filters and carrying bags, none of which should be handled. Anyone coming across any of these items should contact des-enquiries@cityoflondon.gov.uk or telephone 020 7332 3433/020 7332 3630 for advice on how to safely dispose of the items.”
