The Mayor made his first appearance on December 12, and also took to the stage on Friday December 16 and Monday December 19. He will reprise his role on Friday December 30 and Saturday January 7.

Based on the much-loved fairy tale of Jack and The Beanstalk combined with the poems of Rudyard Kipling, Bollywood Jack is a unique pantomime experience for all the family, as East meets West with glittering costumes, a side-splitting dame and songs to get everyone dancing in the aisles.

“It really is an honour to be taking playing a role in Bollywood Jack alongside such a superb professional cast and I want to thank Tara Arts for putting so much faith in me. This exceptional theatre company is a jewel in Wandsworth’s cultural crown and there is nowhere else like it in London,” said the Mayor.

“I believe I’ll be the first Mayor of Wandsworth to walk the boards while on official mayoral duty.”

Speaking about the mayor’s panto debut, Tara Theatre’s Director Jatinder Verma said, “I am delighted that His Worshipful the Mayor of Wandsworth took up my invitation to be part of our first panto in the new Tara Theatre. Cllr Richard Field's enthusiasm has been infectious throughout rehearsals and I'm convinced his cameo appearance will prove a jewel in the crown of our Christmas show - and provide audiences a fun-filled chance to get up close and personal with our Mayor!”
