The Brewers Inn pub on East Hill will increase its accommodation from 16 to 27 rooms following its successful application planning permission for building alterations. The application was approved on 6th November.

Most of the new bedrooms will be in a three-storey extension to be built on land currently used as a car park. The site adjoins the existing pub and is bordered by high flank walls on two sides.

Planning applications chairman Leslie McDonnell said:
"The extension will fit into a fairly tight area at the rear of the pub. Because of its position it will have only a limited impact on nearby properties. The additional rooms will be an asset for the town centre. There is a need for good quality hotel accommodation in a vibrant area like Wandsworth."
