Police are appealing for information and witnesses to come forward after a pedestrian was left critically injured following a collision with a motorcyclist in Wandsworth.

Police were called to the Swandon Way junction with the A217 in Wandsworth Town at 5.50pm last Wednesday night (9 December) following reports of a road traffic collision. Officers found a woman in her twenties suffering from critical head injuries following a collision with a motorcyclist.

London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance attended and the woman was taken to a south London hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

The driver of the motorcycle stopped at the scene and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Enquries are ongoing. Road closures are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

Sergeant John Harrison from the Roads and Transport Policing Command said, "This collision occurred on a busy stretch of road during rush-hour. I'm certain other drivers and pedestrians saw what happened. We need them to call us with any information."
