Opportunities For Young Musicians and Film Makers

In Rock the House and Film the House Competitions

Jane Ellison, local MP, is backing the ‘Rock the House’ and ‘Film the House’ Parliamentary competitions, sponsored by industry and supported by celebrity Patrons.

Both competitions offer the opportunity for local creatives to win prizes ranging from festival tickets, studio time, equipment, radio and TV airplay and the opportunity to have their work premiered in the West End.

Rick Wakeman, one of the patrons of the Rock the House competition, said: “Rock the House is becoming one of the most prestigious events in the music calendar.”

Jane said: “It would be fantastic if some of the young people in Wandsworth could get involved in these competitions and hopefully go through to represent the borough in the finals. I know there is a lot of talent in the constituency and I would urge those involved in music to go the website www.rockthehousehoc.com/apply to get details; those involved in film making should go to www.filmthehouse.com.”

Applications must be submitted by 31 March 2014. Finalists for each competition will be selected in May 2014 from those chosen by their MP.
