Local Film-maker Debuts At East End Film Festival
Shermin Hassan as Arifa & Luca Pusceddu as Riccardo on location

London-produced feature film ARIFA will premiere on 15th June at Rich Mix London as part of East End Film Festival (EEFF2017) followed by a Q&A with the cast and crew. The screening will be ARIFA’s European Premiere and is part of EEFF2017’s Discovery Programme which comprises 20 films from around the world showcasing new talent.

ARIFA is an off-kilter, darkly funny story of Arifa, a young British-Pakistani woman who reaches a crisis in her life when the escalation of her feelings for intriguing but evasive ‘professional gamer’ Riccardo, coincides with the reappearance of her estranged father Hameed.

It's the debut production of Wandsworth-based writer/director Sadia Saeed. The cast includes Shermin Hassan, Luca Pusceddu, Jeff Mirza and comedian Shazia Mirza, and is scored by Mike Lindup from Level 42. ARIFA is set in - and was shot in and around - London with locations in Wandsworth, Hampstead, Bow, Southwark, Soho, Notting Hill and Bexhill.
