Poppy Appeal At Sainsbury's Nine Elms
Supporting The Royal British Legion
Poppy Appeal collectors will be at Sainsbury's Nine Elms Point until November 12th raising funds for The Royal British Legion, the nation's biggest Armed Forces charity.
There will be Poppy-inspired products on sale including Poppy jute bags, tote bags, travel coffee cups, Poppy mugs, tea towels, poppy seeds and flower bouquets. Customers shopping online until November 13th can receive a stick-on Poppy in return for a £1 donation to The Royal British Legion.
This year Sainsbury's is also supporting the Centenary of The Battle of the Somme through sales of Remembrance rose bushes, Somme pin badges and Flanders Poppy seeds.
Sainsbury's has supported The Royal British Legion for the last 22 years, and in 2015 customers and colleagues helped raise over £2 million for the charity.
This year's Poppy Appeal is encouraging the public to 'rethink Remembrance' by not only remembering those who served in the First and Second World Wars, but also the sacrifices made by other generations of the Armed Forces.

We're really excited to welcome the collectors into our store this year and look forward to all the activities we have planned to help this fantastic cause."

The Legion's vital work is entirely dependent on the public's generous support - so please wear your poppy with pride, knowing that you are helping the Armed Forces community to live on."
In the last year the generosity of the British public helped the British Legion answer more than 780,000 requests for help. The Legion uses donations to offer support in many ways including providing crisis grants, researching the impact of blast injuries on the body, lobbying the government on key issues, and advising on benefits and money problems.
After Armistice Day, customers can also choose to recycle their poppies in store. A recycling collection point will be available at the Nine Elms Store Customer Service Desk from November 14th-27th. All collected poppies will go back to The Royal British Legion to either help make new poppies or to generate more funds.
