Wandsworth Santander On Closure List

Santander has confirmed that the Wandsworth High Street branch is on its list of proposed closures and is due to cease trading from the site on May 30th this year. The high street bank announced earlier this week (January 23rd) that it is to close 140 of its branches across the UK amid increased use of online banking services.
A spokesperson said, "The way our customers are choosing to bank with us has changed dramatically in recent years, with more and more customers using online and mobile channels.
"As a result we have had to take some very difficult decisions over our less visted branches, and those where we have branches in close proxmity."
Santander says it will support customers of closing branches in finding other ways to best suit their banking needs, including "individual help to find alternative Santander branches and access digital, telephone and Post Office banking services".
With 1,270 jobs across the UK at risk the bank is now in talks with unions
and expects approximately a third of staff to be redeployed within the company.
