Ex-Wandsworth School Pupil Takes Over As Head Of St Cecilia's

Saint Cecilia's School in Southfields has appointed a new Head. Mrs Renata Joseph will take over as the permanent Headteacher from the summer term.

Mrs Joseph joins Saint Cecilia's from Canons High School in Edgware, where she led the development of Teaching and Learning and more recently Staff Professionalism and The Canons Park Teaching School Alliance. Prior to that Mrs Joseph was a senior leader at The Green School for Girls in west London.

The Chair of St Cecilia's Board of Governors said, "Mrs Joseph is passionate about Saint Cecilia's and is committed to ensuring an exceptional education in an inclusive environment; underpinned by the school's Christian ethos."

Although currently living in west London with her husband and 10 year old daughter, Mrs Joseph has many linksiwith the local community in Wandsworth. She was a pupil at Brandlehow Primary School and then continued her education at Lady Margaret School in Parsons Green, where she was deputy head girl in 1992.

Having gained a degree in Geography, Mrs Joseph undertook a PGCE at St Mary's University College, qualifying as a teacher in 1997.

Mrs Joseph is also a trustee for the National Association for Able Children in Education (NACE) and has significant experience and expertise in outstanding provision for particularly able pupils.

Mrs Joseph said she is delighted to have secured the headship of Saint Cecilia's School and is excited about the outstanding future ahead for the school.
