After 50-year-old was found stabbed to death

A 44-year-old man was arrested in Tooting yesterday (28 March) on suspicion of murdering a 50-year-old man.

Police have taken the suspect to a south London police station where he remains.

Police were called at approximately 2.45pm on Monday 26 March to a residential address in Tooting High Street, following concerns for the welfare of a resident.

Officers forced entry just after 3pm and found the body of a 50-year-old man. The victim had apparently been stabbed and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed, although formal identification has not yet been made.
