Man Charged With Murder In Tooting High Street


After 50-year-old was found stabbed to death

A 47-year-old homeless man has been charged in connection with the murder of a 50-year-old man in Tooting last month.

Christopher McMahon was arrested on Friday (May 4th) on suspicion of murder and was charged with the murder of David Potter later that day.

Mr Potter was stabbed to death at a residential address in Tooting High Street on March 26th.

Police were called at approximately 2.45pm on Monday 26th March to a residential address in Tooting High Street, following concerns for the welfare of a resident.

Officers forced entry just after 3pm and found the body of 50-year-old David Potter. The victim had apparently been stabbed and was pronounced dead at the scene.
