75 year old man dies in hospital

A murder investigation has been launched after a man died following an incident in Welham Road yesterday.

Police were called at 16:51 on Monday 1 June to reports of a fight. Attending officers found three men with injuries.

One man, aged 75, has sustained injuries consistent with being in collision with a vehicle. He was taken to a south London hospital where he died at 00:10 this morning (2 June).

Two other men, both aged in their 30s, were also taken to a south London hospital suffering minor injuries. Both have since been discharged.

London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance also attended the scene.

A number of people fled the scene in a vehicle which was later stopped by police in Louisville Road.

Two men were arrested initially on suspicion of GBH.One remains in custody at a west London police station while the other was taken to a south London hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

Police believe there is one person still outstanding.

Officers from Wandsworth CID were initially investigating the incident, but the case will now be handled by the Homicide and Major Crime Command.
