Playgrounds Investment Scheme Moves Ahead

with Bramford Road Park closing next month

The council is moving ahead with the next stage of its £1 million playground refurbishment programme. Over the coming months another four local play areas will be closed while they are refurbished and fitted out with a wealth of challenging new play facilities for local children and young people including Bramford Road, Wandsworth Town, which will be closed from November 2 for approximately 8 weeks

The projects are part of an ongoing programme of playground improvements taking place across Wandsworth. In total 23 playgrounds will be upgraded with safe, modern and attractive facilities.

Executive member for children's services Kathy Tracey said: "With growing numbers of young families living in Wandsworth it is vitally important that the council's playgrounds are developed and maintained to the highest possible standards. Our aim is to make playgrounds fun, attractive and exciting and provide challenging play opportunities for all children, particularly those aged between five and 11.
