Recession Workshop for Wandsworth Town Centre, Earlsfield and Southfields


The council is offering recession beating advice to small businesses

Local firms are invited to attend a free event on how to overcome today’s difficult trading conditions and exchange ideas with other businesses in the area.

The session takes place at 7pm, Wednesday, 29 April at Blend, 111-113 Wandsworth High Street. Refreshments will be provided.

Advice and information will cover the following topics:

local marketing
• effective communication
• small business rate relief
• community events
• business rate deferral scheme


Guest speakers will include Councillor James Cousins - executive member for Regeneration and Community Safety, Colm Mcmenamin - GLE oneLondon business advisor and Kevin Legg - Wandsworth Council head of revenue services.

GLE oneLondon will also be offering on-going mentoring to businesses that require longer-term support. Advisors can visit traders on an individual basis to analyse the potential for improvement, returning at a later date to check on progress.

Wandsworth’s regeneration spokesman, Cllr James Cousins said:

“We are providing free business coaching sessions all over the borough to ensure local firms have easy access to recession beating advice. GLE oneLondon can also provide a complete business health check and we are encouraging traders to take advantage of this valuable service.”
