Two Men Suffer Serious Assault at Weekend


Wandsworth police appeal for witnesses

Officers in Wandsworth are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious assault in the early hours of Saturday morning, 1st November.

Police were called at around 2.25am on by the London Ambulance Service to reports of a man assaulted with a bat suffering a head injury in Emmanuel Road, Wandworth

Officers attended the scene and found two victims. A 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were taken to a south London hospital.

The 25-year-old' had suffered serious head injuries and his condition is described as serious but stable. The second man had suffered moderate facial injuries and was treated and later discharged.

Officers from Wandsworth Borough's CID are investigating and enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.

At this early stage it is understood that the two victims had walked to Tooting Bec from Balham. On Emmanuel Road three men then jumped out of a car, one of them then attacked the two victims with what appeared to be a baseball bat, before all three got back in the car and sped off down Haverhill Road.

The car the suspects were in has been described a light coloured, possibly a white or silver, Ford Focus (or similar hatchback).

There are no specific descriptions of the three suspects at this time.
