Teenage Girl Sexually Assaulted On Wandsworth Bus


Police appeal for help in identifying a suspect

The police are appealing for help in identifying a man after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted on a bus in Wandsworth.

On Monday 18 May at about 16.20, a 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a man as she travelled on a route 85 bus between Putney Heath and Roehampton.

The suspect is described as an Asian man, aged about 30-years-old, wearing a short black hooded top and baggy jeans. He spoke with a foreign accent in broken English.

Police officers have released a CCTV image and ask anyone with information to contact PC Sue Chalmers on 07826 535 575 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting reference 180588.

Unwanted sexual behaviour on the transport network is not tolerated and all sexual offences are taken very seriously.

The Met Police recently jointly launched the 'Report it to stop it' campaign with Transport for London, the British Transport Police and City of London Police, which aims to further increase the reporting of unwanted sexual behaviour on public transport in the capital.
