New Careers Service To Benefit All Ages

The first all age national face-to-face careers advice

The Government has recently created the first all age national careers service. The National Careers Service is available online, over the telephone and via webchat, at 0800 100900, www.nationalcareerservice.direct.gov.uk. Adults can access in-depth face to face advice from over 3,250 locations in local communities, including public, private and voluntary organisations.

Jane Ellison, Wandsworth M,P said: “By October this year there should be a National Careers Service advisor presence in 95% of jobcentres. In addition, I am very pleased that the new service is working with The Prince’s Trust and other youth charities. Further education colleges will also deliver the new Careers Service which I hope will be of real use to Wandsworth residents.”

The Skills Funding Agency will establish community-based networks to provide access to careers resources for those 16 and above who are not in employment, education or training.
