MPs donate suits for women returning to work

Members of both Houses of Parliament have donated work clothes to a ‘suit drive’for UK charity Dress for Success. The charity helps women move forward with their lives by providing clothing suitable for interviews and helping them to prepare to get back to work.

Jane Ellison,Wandsworth and Battersea MP, said: “I was delighted to support Dress for Success by donating a suit. Dress for Success works with more than 1,000 women each year by providing good quality professional clothes for interviews and personal interview training from a senior executive. The clothes are donated by individuals, through suit drive,s and by retailers donating surplus stock. Many of the women have been out of work for over a year but one of every two clients that the charity helps succeeds in their job interview.”

Training workshops are available for those looking for a job and volunteers are always needed to help other women get back into work. Full information can be found at www.dressforsuccess.org.uk , telephone 0207 288 1770.
