Local Pub Wins "Highly Commended" Award

In the Tiffin Cup 2013 organised by MPs

This week the Holy Cow in Balham has been Highly Commended in the prestigious Tiffin Cup competition, organised by MPs, to find the best South Asian restaurant in the country.

Local MP Jane Ellison nominated the Holy Cow in Balham for the competition after asking residents to recommend their favourite South East Asian restaurant in the constituency via her eBulletin.

Jane said: “I am delighted that the Holy Cow has been awarded a Highly Commended.  It is one of my local restaurants which I use regularly.  This is a prestigious award and to be honoured in this way is testament to the fantastic efforts of the staff.”

The Holy Cow Balham will receive a certificate and an embroidered Tiffin Cup 2013 chef jacket to mark their achievement.

The competition this year is in aid of the charity World Vision, and the Grand Final is being held in Parliament on 2 July 2013.
