How To Make Our Street Safer And More Enjoyable For Kids

Wandsworth Living Streets Meeting and Talk on March 22nd

Thursday - 22 March 2012, 7.30pm

The outdoor child as an indicator species for the quality of urban environments -how can we make a huge city like London a more conducive place for children to grow up in confidently and safely.

SPEAKER: Tim Gill
(author of No Fear: Growing up in a risk averse society)
Tim is a Londoner and one of the UK’s leading thinkers on childhood. He believes that: "We need to reconnect children with the people and places around them, and with the natural world on their doorstep. We need to design neighbourhoods so that it is easy for children to walk, cycle and play near their homes.... In short, we need to expand the horizons of childhood."
