Neal's Nurseries is one of the best in the land
Neal's Nurseries in Heathfield Road has just been voted one of the top ten nurseries in London, and one of the fifty best garden centres in Britain, by The Independent newspaper.
The judges, who included gardening columnist Anna Pavord and owner of Flower + Garden, Dorothy McClean, were looking for a combination of well-informed staff, specialist stock and a good atmosphere.
As a Wandsworth local Dorothy McClean was keen to include Neal's Nurseries: "My local must get a mention for its sheer ability to produce exactly what I am looking for whenever I'm looking for it... And I can be a tricky customer."
The Independent concludes: "
Nestled on the northern tip of Wandsworth Common, you'll find every conceivable container, plant, plant accessory, gardening tool, gardening gift and more in this well laid-out garden centre. And if you can't find it, helpful staff will make sure they bend over backwards to get it for you."
Other winners in the London and South section were Chelsea's World's End Nurseries, RHS Wisley and The Clifton Nurseries in Maida Vale.
