100s Sign Up For Job and Housing Opportunities At Nine Elms

Over 500 residents attended last week's Open Day

More than 550 residents came to last week’s Nine Elms Vauxhall open days to find out about the big changes now taking place across this part of the South Bank.

Over 100 visitors took the chance to register with Wandsworth and Lambeth councils' local jobs service which helps borough residents secure the new job, apprenticeship and training opportunities being created here.

The regeneration area includes parts of both boroughs and the two councils are working together to ensure local residents secure work on the project. Local candidates can register by emailing jobs@nineelmsonthesouthbank.com

This year's open days took place in the grounds of Battersea Power Station which is one the major investment sites across the Nine Elms Vauxhall area.

The open day included scale models of the regeneration plans and information about the area's new schools, parks, health centres, tube stations and town centres.

Visitors were also invited to sign up with Wandsworth Council's homeownership team which helps local residents apply for a range of housing schemes. Thousands of new affordable homes will be built across the regeneration area and Wandsworth residents get priority for new units in the borough.
