New Arrest In Wandsworth Prison Murder

Fulham man detained this week

Detectives investigating the murder of a man in the front car park outside HMP Wandsworth have arrested another suspect.

Darcy Austin-Bruce, 20, was from Fulham and was killed after visiting an inmate. A man wearing a crash helmet is believed to have approached Austin-Bruce in the prison yard and fired a volley of shots with a handgun. The gunman ran back to a waiting scooter driven by a second man and the pair got away.

Officers have now arrested a 33-year-old man from Fulham on suspicion of murder.

Darcy Austin-Bruce died from gunshot wounds at the scene, while The Thames at Wandsworth Bridge was recently searched for the murder weapon after a tip-off.

Three men from Fulham have already been charged with murder, and will face trial later this year.

Detective Cheif Inspector Gordon Allison (Trident) is leading the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 020 8247 4554 or call crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
