Police appeal for witnesses
Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 3.45pm yesterday (April 18th) to reports of a stabbing in Penwortham Road.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command have launched a murder investigation following the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man.
Officers attended and found a man suffering from stab injuries. He died at the scene a short while later.
Next-of-kin have now been informed, although a formal identification still needs to be made.
A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course, and DCI Diane Tudway from the Homicide and Major Crime Command is leading the investigation.
