Westside FC Player Dies During Training Session


The Wandsworth-based team has not yet named the deceased


A footballer from Wandsworth club Westside FC has colapsed and died at a training session on Wednesday (July17th) evening.

The club announced the death on its twitter page yesterday: "Westside FC is saddened to announce that one of our players collapsed and died at training last night.

"Despite efforts by those there and paramedics, sadly he could not be revived.

"Our condolences go out to his family and friends."

The club was established in 1996 and is based at West Side Church on Melody Road. It's a Christian based club which also welcomes players who are not Christian. Men, women and under 18s are all represented within the club's teams.

At the time of writing the club had not released any name or details about the deceased.
