Police Save Man From Cutting His Wrists

On the bridge that crosses Windmill Road

In the early hours of Tuesday October 21st officers from Hammersmith and Fulham police were approached by a member of the public who told them that he had just seen a man in the act of cutting his wrists.

Officers found the man, who then ran off along Trinity Road SW18 before running to the edge of the nearby bridge that crosses over Windmill Road where he continued to injure himself with a razor blade.

The officers took immediate action to restrain him and took the razor blade from him.

The 29-year-old man was then given immediate first aid for cuts to his neck and wrists. He was taken to a central London hospital where his injuries were not found to be life-threatening.

After his wounds were attended to, he was taken to a second hospital and detained for treatment.

No other person was injured during the incident.
