The Peking Garden Chinese Takeaway on Garratt Lane has been told it 'needs improvement' following a visit from the food hygiene inspectors. It has been given a two star rating under the 'Scores on the Doors' system.

Although the inspector's report states that their hygiene and safety level was fair and that there was some confidence in management the ratings specifically for Structural Compliance was poor. This relates to general cleanliness and condition of the building, its facilities, layout, lighting and ventilation.

Their website says it provides "a great selection of all your favourite Chinese food Whether you're after a quick meal to feed the family or a night in front of the T.V".

The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme allows the public to see the results of food hygiene inspections as a rating from 0 to 5. Rating certificates and window stickers are sent out to businesses after assessment.

Scores on the Doors is a website that collates information on the food premises supplied by the Food Standards Agency and provided by local authorities. Wandsworth Council inspects most of the 2,132 food premises in Wandsworth each year - the aim as stated on the council website is to 'to ensure that food sold to the public is safe to consume'
