Officers from Wandsworth Police are urging the public to be on their guard after a number of people have fallen prey to a scam occurring across the borough.
People have been purchasing plasma TV’s from the back of a White, VW Transit van thinking they are getting a bargain, but instead they are buying old broken TV sets.
A/DS Mark Taylor said; 'This is a widely used scam, which takes advantage of people at a moment of vulnerability. I would advise all members of the public not to buy anything from the back of a van and to report such events immediately to the police...'
