A public meeting has been organised by Justine Greening MP for Putney for this Wednesday evening (17 July).

It takes place at 7.30 pm at St Mary's Church in Putney.

Heathrow Airport Limited is holding a further consultation as part of its expansion plans to build a third runway and say they want to hear residents’ views on its latest proposals.

Ms Greening said, “Given there have already been a number of consultations in relation to airport expansion, I am holding a public meeting to give residents the opportunity to find out more about what is actually being proposed this time. Representatives from Heathrow and from No Third Runway will also be there to give us their views on the plans.

“Broadly, this latest consultation will be looking at the layout of the airport including the location of the new runway, terminals and other infrastructure and how the airport will operate in the future, covering runway alternation, night flights and directional preference. Crucially for our community, it is also seeking views on how Heathrow will manage and mitigate the effects of expansion, including its approach to noise and air quality. These elements have the potential to significantly affect our quality of life and so far Heathrow has not been able to provide sufficient information on the details.

“As usual, there are a huge number of complicated and technical documents associated with the consultation. I will be going through these and making my own submission but it will be helpful for us to have the chance to ask questions about the issues that concern us.”

The consultation is open until 11.55pm on 13 September 2019 and details are available online.

You can provide your feedback using the form on that website, email at feedback@heathrowconsultation or write to Freepost LHR AIRPORT EXPANSION CONSULTATION. You don’t have to answer each consultation question individually – you can just provide general comments and you can also send them to Justine Greening and she says she’ll make sure they are submitted.

Ms Greening added, “I very much hope that you can come along but please do get in touch if you aren't able to attend but would like to be kept updated on what I am doing on the issue. I recognise that there have been countless consultations over the years - we have contributed our views in good faith and yet we still feel our voices are not being heard. I do not believe that, in the end, Heathrow will be able to meet environmental targets so it is as important as ever to hold them to account. “
