Enabling customers to pay for their trip via any compatible smartphone
Thames Clippers has signed a a five-year agreement with London-based Masabi to offer a system to buy tickets on mobile phones to their three million plus commuters and visitors every year.
The river bus services run from Putney along the Thames to Woolwich, with some vessels providing free WiFi and on-board Costa Coffee shops. The new Thames Clippers mobile tickets will use Masabi’s app-based JustRide product.
Sean Collins, CEO of Thames Clippers, said:

The addition of mobile ticketing means that our passengers will now be able to buy their tickets anywhere, without the need to queue at ticket machines or fumble for the correct change. Masabi currently provides mobile ticketing for 13 of the UK’s rail operators as well as the cities of Boston and San Diego in the USA.
