Active Shoppers Win Prizes

Wandsworth supermarkets handing out healthy prizes

Visitors to some of the borough's supermarkets will have the chance to pick up healthy prizes along with their shopping during the next fortnight.

As part of the Walk4Life campaign, shoppers will be asked to wear pedometers while they walk around the stores to measure how many steps they take while filling their baskets.

Participants will be entered into a draw for the chance to win seven days free membership to the borough’s sports centres. Other prizes up for grabs include the new Diana Moran exercise video, supermarket vouchers and healthy food hampers.

The competition aims to increase awareness about the huge benefits regular walking can have upon your health and wellbeing.

Staff will also be on hand to give out information about the free-guided walks which take place every week across Wandsworth. The walks are led by trained walk leaders who can advise and guide residents towards building up their physical activity at a pace that suits them.

Regular walking can help reduce your blood pressure, lower your stress levels, and manage your weight. It can also help prevent serious health conditions.

The competition will take place at Waitrose, Southside Shopping Centre, Wandsworth Town - Thursday September 2nd and Friday September 3rd.
